Online advertising growth in Russia outpaces traditional media in 2019

In 2019, advertisers In Russia spent on online advertising 20% more than they did in 2018.
According to the Association of Russian Communication Agencies, revenue from TV advertising decreased by 6% and amounted to 175 billion rubles.
In the radio segment, advertisers spent 16 billion rubles, or 5% less than in 2018. Print media advertising revenue fell by 16% to 15.1 billion rubles.
The out-of-home segment (outdoor, transit, indoor advertising plus advertising in cinemas) saw no changes—annual revenue amounted to 43.8 billion rubles.
Last year, advertisers in Russia spent a total of 494 billion rubles on advertising, a 5% increase from 2018. Taking into account the cost of marketing strategies, promotional products, and advertising agencies services, Russia’s advertising market was worth 850-870 billion rubles.
