Telegram 2024: Star Updates

On August 14, the Telegram platform celebrated 11 years since the launch of the first client. According to the messenger, in July 2024 Telegram’s audience will have reached 950 million users worldwide.

To mark the birthday, the Telegram service released a number of updates useful for promoting betting and gambling.

Support for Telegram channels and authors: Star Reactions and Star Subscriptions 

Users can support their favorite channels and authors with special “stars”. Received stars can be exchanged for Toncoin cryptocurrency or you can get a 30% discount on advertising fees. You can use Telegram Stars to buy digital goods in mini-applications or send them as gifts to your contacts.

You can also earn Telegram Stars by generating special invitation links and subscribing users to your channel. By subscribing, you can broadcast additional or very important content, give early access to information.

• You can enable “Star Reactions” in Channel Settings / Reactions / Enable paid reactions.
• You can create a subscription link in Channel Settings / Channel Type / Manage invite links / then select “Create a new link” and enable the “Monthly fee” option.

Telegram content monetization: bots and paid content

Innovations will help automate the process of filling and promoting channels and business accounts:

• Publishing paid photos and videos is a new way to monetize a Telegram channel.
• Paid content can be published through admin bots in channels and through business profiles. 
• In a special “Search” section, a store of mini-applications (games, services) has appeared. Developers can not only publish their offers, but also acquaint users with them through screenshots and demos. 

Telegram 2024 has become more convenient: new technical features

In the summer of 2024, Telegram launched its own browser: 

• You can fold pages on the bottom bar to quickly switch between chats and channels. A favorite post can be sent to “Saved Messages”.
• Browsing decentralized sites is available through Telegram’s browser.
• You can open .pdf, .xls or .docx documents in separate browser tabs.
