2026 WTT Series

The World Table Tennis (WTT) 2026 series continues the global season of international table tennis tournaments, bringing together competitions of various levels and the strongest players from around the world. The season began January 7–11, 2026, with the WTT Champions tournament in Doha (Qatar) and will run for most of the year, concluding December 8–13 with the WTT Finals in Hong Kong, where the top players of the season will compete based on the world rankings.

As in previous years, the tournaments are divided into several categories:

  • WTT Grand Smash — the largest and most prestigious tournaments of the series;

  • WTT Champions — competitions featuring the world’s top-ranked players;

  • WTT Star Contender and Contender — stages where both leading athletes and promising young players can compete.

Throughout the season, tournaments take place in different countries across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Among the regular host cities of the WTT series are Singapore, Doha, Chongqing, Budapest, and Düsseldorf, which frequently host major stages of the world tour. The full tournament calendar and exact dates are published on the official WTT platforms and updated as venues are confirmed.

Participants and Season Favorites

The WTT 2026 series traditionally features the strongest representatives of world table tennis. The main contenders for titles remain players from China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, France, and Sweden, who regularly occupy leading positions in the global rankings.

Among the key players expected to compete for titles are:

  • Fan Zhendong and Ma Long — among the most decorated players in modern table tennis;

  • Wang Chuqin — one of the leaders of the new generation of the Chinese national team;

  • Wang Manyu and Chen Meng — top representatives of the women’s rankings;

  • Tomokazu Harimoto and Mima Ito — leading stars of the Japanese national team;

  • European players Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov, as well as emerging talents from France and Sweden.

The high level of competition and the WTT ranking system maintain intrigue throughout the season — points earned at each stage determine qualification for the WTT Finals, where the best players of the tour are decided at the end of the year.
