On 16 January 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) granted exclusive media rights to broadcast the 2026-2032 Olympic Games in Europe to the European Broadcasting Union and Warner Bros. Discovery. The competition is planned to attract more than 1 billion viewers.

The IOC press office informed 3S.INFO that all media rights for the Winter Olympics in 2026 (Italy) and 2030 (location is still unknown) as well as for the Summer Olympics 2028 (Los Angeles, USA) and 2032 (Brisbane, Australia), and for the Youth Olympic Games in the same period have been handed over.

  • Incidentally, the next Summer Olympic Games (XXXIII Summer Olympics) will be held as early as 2024 (Paris, France).

The list of countries, where broadcasting on TV and digital platforms will take place, includes 49 countries (see below). Russia and Belarus will not officially broadcast the Olympics events!

Where to watch the Olympics?

  • Go to any of the countries where official broadcasting is allowed: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, Vatican City.
  • Various fan and sports groups on social media. For example, this happened with the Formula 1 broadcasts in 2022. There were no official broadcasts of the race in Russia, but everyone could enjoy the spectacle not on TV, but online.
  • Bookmakers who organize free broadcasts on their websites and apps!
