The Bahrain Grand Prix is a round of the Formula One World Championship.
Bahrain Grand Prix is the first Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East. The inaugural race took place in 2004.
The 2027 Bahrain Grand Prix is included in the Formula 1 calendar, but the exact date has not yet been announced. The race typically takes place in March or April and is one of the first rounds of the season. All Formula 1 teams participating in the 2027 season will participate, but the final driver lineups have not yet been confirmed.
In 2002, construction began on the Bahrain International Circuit (Sakhir). In addition to the F1 events, the race track would also host a number of drag racing, GT races and Formula 3 competitions.
The first Bahrain Grand Prix winner in 2004 was German racer Michael Schumacher.
Before the 2010 season, the circuit was upgraded with a new stretch between the corners, increasing its lap length to 6,299 metres.
In 2011, the Grand Prix did not take place due to the unstable situation in the country and popular unrest.
