About the British Grand Prix
The British Grand Prix is a round of the Formula One World Championship, held annually at Silverstone Circuit. Historically, it has been held at this circuit every year since 1987.
British Grand Prix 2027
The 2027 British Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on 3–5 July at the legendary Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire. The British round will remain on the Formula 1 calendar, with the agreement between Formula 1, Silverstone, and the British Racing Drivers’ Club running through 2034.
History of Motor Racing in Great Britain
The British Grand Prix was first held in 1926 at Brooklands. Over the years, the British Formula 1 round has been held at three main circuits:
- Silverstone;
- Brands Hatch;
- Aintree.
The first Formula 1 World Championship race took place at Silverstone in 1950. Today, the circuit is 5.891 km long and features 18 corners.
Lewis Hamilton remains the record holder for the most British Grand Prix victories, with 8 wins.

British Grand Prix 2028
The British Grand Prix will continue to be held at Silverstone. The dates for the 2028 event have not yet been announced. The current agreement guarantees the British Grand Prix at Silverstone through 2034.
