ICC Men's Cricket World Cup is the premier international cricket competition in the One Day International (ODI) format, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament brings together the world's strongest national teams, competing for the World Cup title in the 50-over format.
The first World Cup was held in 1975, and the tournament has since become the leading event in international ODI cricket. In 2027, the World Cup will return to Africa for the first time in 24 years. Matches will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with 14 teams taking part.

ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 will take place in October and November 2027 across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The tournament will be hosted at 12 venues: eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia's capital, Windhoek.
The tournament will feature 14 national teams. Starting in 2027, the ICC is introducing a new competition format. In the first stage, the three lowest-ranked teams will compete in a Super Series, with the winner joining 11 other teams in the second stage.
The 12 teams will then be divided into two groups of six. Following the group stage, the top seven teams will advance to the Super 7. The four highest-ranked teams from this stage will reach the semi-finals, with the semi-final winners meeting in the final. The tournament will feature 57 matches in total.

The history of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup began in 1975. The inaugural tournament was held in England and won by the West Indies, who defeated Australia in the final.

Australia holds the record for the most World Cup titles, having won the tournament six times. The Australian team lifted the trophy in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023.
