2026/27 Season
One of the key events associated with the series is the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, a virtual endurance race that has previously served as the finale of the Le Mans Virtual Series. The organizers have yet to publish the full details of the next edition, including the participating teams and drivers.
A separate 24-hour Le Mans event is also scheduled in the Le Mans Ultimate racing simulator for the week of 20 October 2026. The official Le Mans Ultimate calendar lists the event with Hypercar, WEC LMP2 and LMGT3 classes. It is part of the simulator's Special Events programme and has not been announced as a round of the new Le Mans Virtual Series season.
Therefore, the return of the Le Mans Virtual Series has been announced, but details of the 2026/27 season are still to be confirmed. Information about the calendar, teams, drivers and race format should be updated once the organizers publish the official announcement.
History of the Esports Racing Series
Le Mans Virtual Series is a major sim racing championship based on the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. The project began in 2020 with a virtual version of the 24-hour race, organized after the real-life Le Mans event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, the virtual competitions developed into a full multi-round championship. The early seasons were held on the rFactor 2 platform and featured both professional sim racers and well-known motorsport drivers.
The 2021/22 season culminated in a virtual 24-hour race at the Le Mans circuit. The event featured 50 cars and 200 drivers from 39 countries. Realteam Hydrogen Redline won the LMP class, while BMW Team Redline took victory in the GTE category.
The 2022/23 season also consisted of five rounds and ended with the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans. Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team won the LMP championship, while BMW Team Redline claimed the GTE title.
