Men's European Volleyball Championship 2028
The 2028 Men's European Volleyball Championship (EuroVolley 2028) is an international tournament for European national teams organised by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) every two years. The final tournament features 24 teams.
Poland are the current European champions after winning the 2026 edition.
The women's equivalent is the Women's European Volleyball Championship.
When is EuroVolley 2028?
The 2028 Men's European Volleyball Championship is scheduled to take place from 8 to 24 September 2028. The final tournament will feature 24 national teams. The dates are included in CEV hosting documents and may be adjusted in the final competition calendar.
Where will the 2028 European Championship be held?
EuroVolley 2028 will be hosted by four countries. So far, the CEV has officially confirmed Montenegro as one of the host nations. The pool phase in Montenegro will be played in Podgorica at SC Morača.
The other three host countries have not yet been officially announced.
Who will play at EuroVolley 2028?
The final tournament will feature 24 national teams.
The qualification system for EuroVolley 2028 has been revised by the CEV. Places are allocated to the host countries, the 2026 European champions and the top teams from the 2026 and 2027 European League. The remaining places are determined by the European ranking after the 2027 international season.
As of September 2026, Finland, the Netherlands, Israel and Denmark have qualified through the 2026 European League. Poland qualified as the 2026 European champions, while Montenegro has a place as a host country.
History of the European Championship
The first Men's European Volleyball Championship was held in Rome in 1948. Six national teams took part, with Czechoslovakia becoming the first European champions.
Since 2019, the final tournament has featured 24 teams and has been hosted across several European countries. Previous editions have been held in countries including France, Italy, Poland, Serbia and Bulgaria.
