The 2030 Men's Hockey World Cup will be the next edition of the premier global tournament following the 2026 World Cup. The competition will take place four years after the tournament in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The exact dates, venue and host cities for the 2030 Men's Hockey World Cup have not yet been officially announced. The final list of participating teams and qualification format will also be confirmed at a later date.
The most recent World Cup, held in 2026, featured 16 national teams. The tournament took place from August 15 to 30 in Wavre, Belgium, and Amstelveen, the Netherlands. The men's final was held in Wavre.
History of the Men's Hockey World Cup
The first Men's Hockey World Cup was held in 1971 in Barcelona, Spain. The tournament was originally planned to take place in Pakistan, but political tensions between Pakistan and India led to the venue being moved.
A total of 10 national teams participated in the inaugural tournament. Pakistan became the first World Cup champions.
Since 1971, the World Cup has generally been held every four years. The competition gradually expanded, with 16 teams participating for the first time at the 2018 tournament, a format that has been retained in subsequent editions.
Pakistan remains one of the most successful teams in World Cup history, having won four titles. Germany also have four titles, while the Netherlands and Australia have won the tournament three times each.

In 2026, Germany successfully defended their title and became four-time World Cup champions. In the final in Wavre, Germany defeated Spain 1–0.
In the third-place match, Argentina beat the Netherlands 2–1 to claim the bronze medal.
