The Supercopa de España Femenina (Spanish Women's Super Cup) is an annual Spanish football mini-tournament that involves the champion and vice-champion teams of Spain, as well as the finalists of the Copa de la Reina/Queen's Cup (third place teams in the championship may qualify for the tournament).
A similar men's football event is called the Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa de España).
Spanish Women's Super Cup 2027
The 2027 Spanish Women's Super Cup will take place from January 19 to 24. The tournament will retain its traditional Final Four format, with four teams competing in two semifinals and a final. The exact venue and list of participants have not yet been officially announced. The RFEF has already confirmed the tournament dates in the 2026/27 season calendar.
Who Will Participate?
Four teams qualify for the Spanish Women's Super Cup based on their results in the previous season of Liga F and the Copa de la Reina. The tournament features the winners and finalists of the Copa de la Reina, as well as the top teams from the league if they have not already qualified through the cup competition.
The participants in the 2027 Spanish Women's Super Cup will be determined after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. At the time of writing, the RFEF has not published an official list of participating teams or the semifinal pairings.
The tournament format will remain unchanged: two semifinals will be followed by a final. All three matches will be played as part of the same final stage.
History of the Tournament
The first Spanish Women's Super Cup was held in 1997. Initially, the competition featured the Spanish champions and the Copa de la Reina winners, with the tie played over two legs — one at each team's home ground.
In 2019, the competition adopted a new format, and since the 2019/20 season, the Spanish Women's Super Cup has been played as a four-team tournament. The format consists of two semifinals and a final at a single venue.
Barcelona has been the most successful team in recent years. In 2026, the Catalan club won the Spanish Women's Super Cup for the sixth time, defeating Real Madrid 2–0 in the final. As a result, Barcelona has won the last five editions of the tournament.
