The Beach Pro Tour was an international beach volleyball tournament series launched by the FIVB and Volleyball World in 2022. For several seasons, it brought together events at different levels and was held in countries around the world.
The Beach Pro Tour is no longer held
The 2026 season was the final season of the Beach Pro Tour. That year, the circuit included Elite and Challenge events, as well as Futures tournaments. Most Elite events featured draws of up to 24 teams per gender, while Challenge tournaments included up to 32 teams.
From November 2026, the Beach Pro Tour was no longer the main international beach volleyball series. It was replaced by the new FIVB Beach World Series, introduced by the FIVB and Volleyball World as a new format for international beach volleyball competition.
This page covers the history and final seasons of the Beach Pro Tour. Current information about the new international series is available on the FIVB Beach World Series page.
How the Beach Pro Tour was structured
When the Beach Pro Tour was launched in 2022, it included three levels of competition:
- Elite16 — the top level of the circuit, featuring leading beach volleyball teams;
- Challenge — tournaments for established players and teams competing for ranking points and opportunities to move up the international standings;
- Futures — events that provided younger and less experienced teams with international competition and a pathway to ranking points.
The tournament structure changed over the course of the circuit's existence. In the final 2026 season, the FIVB used Elite and Challenge events, while Futures tournaments also continued to be held in different countries.
History of the Beach Pro Tour
The Beach Pro Tour was introduced in 2022 as a new international competition system for beach volleyball. It replaced the previous structure of the world tour and brought tournaments of different levels together under one circuit.
Events were held in established beach volleyball markets as well as new host locations across Europe, Asia, North and South America and other regions.
The 2026 season was the final Beach Pro Tour season. After it ended, the international calendar moved to the new FIVB Beach World Series.
